Poppy is shy at first until she gets to know you.  Once she knows you, which takes a bit of time, she is an active girl.  She is also vocal by barking with some guttural sounds and has a playful growl.

Poppy is definitely a herding girl… she jumps on the backs of your legs and nips at your ankles.  She loves toys and tearing apart cardboard, being on your lap and on your furniture.  Poppy is still learning manners, such as… waiting to be “asked” to jump on your lap.  She loves playing with other dogs.  If you are into agility training, I believe she would benefit from this and puppy training classes.

She is very small weighing in at 10 pounds of pure energy, and talks to you and learns your schedule quickly.  She enjoys riding in the car and walking on leash (still learning).  She has some “cat like” mannerisms, which makes me wonder if she may have grown up around cats.  She has yet to chase squirrels, bunnies or birds.  She is potty and kennel trained, and she enjoys having her own little space to curl up in to sleep.

She is sable and white with a touch of blue merle, which give her a spotted appearance with one blue eye and a tail that curls when she is happy.

May do fine with older children (over 10) and appears to prefer women to most men.

We require a fenced in yard though she is small enough and can get through gaps, and if that is a picket fence or rod iron fence, the gap cannot be over 2 3/4 inches.

We adopt in the “greater Kansas City” area!  No Wrought iron fence for this little one.
