Phoebe is a happy girl who gets along with other dogs and would do great in a home with another dog to guide her through interactions with people and I believe would also, do well in a home by herself as long as she had play dates to interact with other dogs. She enjoys attention from people once she is familiar with them otherwise it takes a little while for her to warm up to new people. This is normal for breeding dogs and with love and patience, she will persevere. Currently she puts her front paws on my knee when asking for attention and has worked up to being on my lap for a couple of minutes… this is a huge accomplishment for her. She came to us more than 10 pounds overweight and has about 4+ more pounds to lose so, she is making great progress… her weight goal is 15lbs. She knows to “sit” for her treats though likes to raise up on her hind legs and do a little dance… very food motivated and gets excited over mealtime. Phoebe is potty trained and loves to chill out in her crate and sleep there at night in her own personal cave like space. Extremely fond of soft chew bones, knotted thread toys, soft rubber toys and cardboard rolls from paper towels etc. Loves chasing squirrels and running up and down the fence with the neighbor’s dog giving it her all trying to keep up, amazing to watch! She is learning to walk on leash and so far is doing fair since she still gets “distracted” by everything around her… though, is making progress. Does well riding in the car with the back seat being her favorite place. Local adoption only. Must have fenced yard.
